The Friends and Family of Incarcerated Persons (FFIP) held it’s 18th Holiday Party in Las Vegas, NV, for families affected by incarceration. There was so much fun at this year’s party with singing, games, and presents!
DJ Tony Cruz kept the FFIP Holiday Party going with holiday sing-alongs and games. He played a version of name that tune and prizes were given to those who could guess the song. The children asked for musical chairs and it was so much fun watching everyone play. Prizes were awarded to the winners. He also had the crowd dancing to popular songs.
The highlight of the FFIP Holiday Party was when Santa entered the hall with a “Ho Ho Ho.” The children ran up to Santa and were excited to see him. He spent time with each child and gave them a special gift from Santa. Thank you to the people who donated gifts and especially to Zappos who provided awesome toys and gift cards. Thanks to Kim and her family, who provided a photo booth again at this year’s FFIP Holiday Party. The families had so much fun dressing up and playing. The pictures they take home will remind them of the good times and how they can be happy, even when their loved one is not with them.
And there were delicious food and treats, too! Thanks to the volunteers who provided the food and set everything up. There were beautiful centerpieces at each table surrounded by chocolate and candy canes. Even the youngest couldn’t resist trying to get a candy treat.
From all of us at FFIP, our wish for you in the new year is to be able to enjoy every moment that you have with your loved ones. Remember to take care of yourself. By taking care of yourself you can be available for your friends and family. Find the support that you need and surround yourself with safe, loving, compassionate people. Things in life are going to happen, and we have the choice on how we’re going to handle it. Here’s to a better year in 2020.
