Caring for Children of Incarcerated Loved Ones – SPECIAL Bibliotherapy
Children whose family members are involved in the criminal justice system may face many challenges including emotional strain, academic difficulties and economic hardship. Being separated from a loved one in prison can create a series of stressful situations such as arrest, conviction, imprisonment and parole. This group offers a support system to help overcome these challenges and understand the unique dynamics between a child and their incarcerated loved one.
TONIGHT – introducing bibliotherapy through the use of children’s books. This session generally takes about 1.5 hours. During such times, we introduce parents/caregivers to the use of storybooks for emotional healing and discussing difficult topics using our digital books.
